Any tech article on installing a floor shifter?

Has anyone installed a floor shifter in a column shift car? Also if i do install a floor shifter can i eliminate the linkage to the column.

Unfortunately, the linkage to the column is there to run the backup lights switch, and neutral safety switch. You could eliminate it if you got a shifter with both switches as a part of it's assembly, or maybe the 3rd gen F body used a different system. I don't think it had the linkage to the column as they were all floor shift.
