Mark, I'm sorry to say that I didn't get to check on that cam for you today. I was supposed to go to the doctor with my fiance this morning so I could watch her daughter while they did an ultrasound on her arm to check for a blood clot and then go to work. On the way to meet her the brakes on the Geo started screwing up. I had to go back home and get my truck and switch all of my tools and stuff over into it. Air up the tires, check the fluids, etc., etc. It took a lot longer than it should have.

It was late before I got to work, I only got a couple of hours in today and I didn't get a chance to check the computer yet. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

No rush Chris. Your personal business comes first. This is a long term project and I am slowly accumulating info.

Ok Mark, it's kinda slow at work this morning so I took a look for your cam. When I looked up a 1976 Pontiac Bonneville with a 455, it shows 3 GM part numbers. I haven't checked to see if there are any differences between the different part numbers. I hope this helps.

Oh man, thanks Chris! This is great! I know the good 9779067 cam was the bread-and-butter 4 barrel cam for a ton of Pontiac V-8's from '65 to '76. Your average GTO and Firebird with a 4 barrel 389, 400, or 455 came with that cam. It has 273°/289° duration with .407" lift. Smooth idle and a broad steady power band from idle up to about 4500 rpm. I was actually planning on getting that one if the stock cam was less than desirable. The 9785744 is the Ram Air 1 cam and the 9794041 is the Ram Air 4 cam. Not likely to be found in a '76 Bonneville- or even in the so-called 455 HO used in the '76 TA. But they do interchange freely as do all Pontiac cams. Chris- you made my day! I can leave the 455 alone and concentrate on more important issues now. Thanks!!!!
