If the rear is not rusted like most are- slap a big block in that thing and enjoy the crap out of it!

Leaf spring nation bro!

My first car was a '75 LT and I have a soft spot for them (visually). Natasha was on the fence about getting a disco Camaro - However, I refused to have anything to do with leaf springs and performance/handling.

Might be why I never bought a '68 Camaro?

I have played with all four generations of F bodies, mostly Firebirds. I still have a 1968 Firebird convertible project and a 1995 Formula headache. They are getting scarce so I would grab a rust-free example in a heartbeat. Lots of parts available and repops galore. You can put any motor you can afford right in. They came with 8.5 rears and T-350 transmissions out of the box.

I dig the small window pre 75 cars. Honestly if I found a good deal on a 74 bird I'd have a hard time saying no.

But yeah, they are getting scarce = expensive. 1st gens seen rare enough that 2nd gens are getting hot.

Everything back then was made out of recycled beer cans that rotted at the sight of a snow flake, there were no crash test requirements like now. It's amazing that car is able to be so heavy.
Well unfortunately gbodys aren't much better dam things fold up if you look at them wrong ,seen quite a few around by me look like a pop can after 50 mph crash,
