Asbestos

I have to agree w/ pontiacgp and and your dad is overreacting on your behalf. The problem occurs when air pressure, power washing, grinding, sanding, or painting gets particles air born. Quite honestly I would bet the mask you are wearing is probably not rated to be used with asbestos, you need a true respirator. My father died from this and don't wish it on anybody. I was diagnosed with it last year and hopefully can be kept it in check. That being said anything you do to protect yourself is a plus !!

Way back in the 60's my dad worked for an insurance company who insured mines, he came back from a mine in northern quebec with an rock impregnated with asbestos for me. I had that rock in my room for years and use try to pull the asbestos strands from the rock. I have linoleum tiles in my room which most likely had asbestos in them. Plus my room was probably painted with lead paint. I'm starting to wonder if my parents wanted to get rid of me.....😀

I can see why you'd think that. Lol. Did you ever notice any of your food tasting any different? Did you ever get "special" treats?

I am just saying a $20-30 set of coveralls and a box of gloves would get your dad off of your backside. Keeps you out if the shower. Have clean hands and way less drama.

Old age and treachery have taught me when to pick a battle. Heck, if you spin it right, he might buy them.

Plus, no more, or not as many car guy stained hands and clothes. To those in the know, dirty mechanic hands are a sign of work...or clean money. Girls, younger ones, don't see it that way yet.

If your dad told you that the paint was wet, would you still have to touch it and see?

I can't remember but I do know I was the only kid on the street with a life insurance policy....🙁

You've got a good point about which battles to pick. Live and learn. Lol.

I've got to say that not all young women are turned off by a man who comes home from work dirty and has grease stained fingers though. My fiance was 20 when I met her and she said one of her favorite things about me was that I worked with my hands and got dirty. She says she loves the smell of junkyard on me. Maybe she's an exception to the rule. Lol. Either way, if someone doesn't like me because I look like I've been working all day I don't have much use for them anyways.

Love the rubber gloves - Harbor freight under $10/ box - buy the 7 mil. Use common sense and dress for the occasion

So this is sexy? Hmmm...are you sure it wasn't the strategic holes in the jeans? Photo courtesy of my girlfriend 16 years ago, now my wife...
