You guys down there are lucky. Everyone up here thinks their 4L80E or T-56 is solid gold. Kind of like buying an Olds 455. I think my $120 Olds 350, an older dual pattern Ford/GM Olds bell housing and a fourth gen V6 T-5 is the way to go for now. The $2500 isn't far off for a 4L80E, pretty much $1750 minimum up here to get one installed and that is used with basic manual control and an OK converter.
