I've rode in a couple vehicles with airbags and couldn't believe somebody would install that on their car. The ride quality was awful, it hurts your back when you lower it, the air tanks run out after only lifting and lowering it a couple times, you cant ride with it lowered because it needs air in the lines to have any suspension at all, and both cars had electric compressors that we had to shut off first if we wanted to talk to each other. Thats sound it makes when you lower it is annoying too.

With hydraulics you should only be replacing your batteries every few years. A street charger keeps them charged when you are driving. Accumulators are a must if your using stiff springs and poly paks will keep you from having to change o-rings so often.

i have had both too. i think if either one is installed correctly with brand new quality parts by someone who knows what they are doing you won't have problems. i prefer juice.. i haven't had any probs with my hydraulics but everything i bought was brand new. back in the day when i first got into them it was a different story. i think that is the problem with most of the people that have juice in there cars. They don't really have the money to be building a car and try to find everything used. not all used stuff is bad but come on you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. some parts just belong in the trash. 😀

Going with HYDRAULICS when I am ready.

What are some good kits and What kits are junk? How is this company???

http://www.lona-sons.com/catalog/index.php?id=C9500

I have one problem I never understood. How do the cylinders mount in the rear??? Could someone explain or post some pics of how it is dome?

Thanks, oh and to the setup above me, that is awesome!!

BTW I do not plan on hopping. Just a little FBSS , maby some 3 wheel,,,,,and titanium blocks for when I drag the rear end.

Think I figured it out, correct me if I am wrong. After boxing the frame I will need to mount a cup on the inside of the frame for the cylinder to go into. The piston side goes into the doughnut that is welded onto the rear end.

What holds the cylinder and piston from slipping out of the doughnut???

it all depends on what you like. most pumps are the same except for looks. pitbull's like mine are machined a little cleaner and the ports match up better than others. plus there is no street kit with pitbull. there lowest level pump is equal to most companies compitition pumps. 1/2 inch pressure ports and dual 3/8 returns are standard on there pumps.

honestly it depends on what you want to do. the way i have it is called a "coil over". IMO it is the best way and most trouble free way to do it. The traditional coil under is a pain in the *ss. everytime you hit 3 a coil pops out then your stuck trying to get it back in. We used to run coil unders back in the 90's. basicly you cut hole in the center of the upper spring perch for the cylinders to go. then you put a reversed cup on the cylinder. after that the spring goes on. then the cylinder is slid up through the hole in the perch, the shaft is mounted to the powerball that you previously welded on to the axel. hope that helps. You might think about putting a bridge also. thats the c-channel that runs in between the frame rails on both sides of the car/ if you install one the spring perch must be completely cut off on both sides. that help reinforce your fram and keeps you from busting a spring through the trunk. Plus after you do the bridge you can add chains and make it a chain bridge. The purpose of the chains is so you can hit three wheel standing still by limiting the amount of travel on one side and pulling down the other side causing the front to come up. but in order to do that you must run three pumps. two to the rear so you can lift individual corners like this. 😀

thanks bro

Definitely bad *ss, brings back memories of car shows. 🙂

Okay I got most of what you are saying. So to put a bridge I would have to weld a plate or angle iron from one side of the frame to the other. Your saying it makes it stronger but I need to cut the spring perches.

So I would have to relocate them or make new, stranger ones?
