Going with HYDRAULICS when I am ready.

What are some good kits and What kits are junk? How is this company???

http://www.lona-sons.com/catalog/index.php?id=C9500

I have one problem I never understood. How do the cylinders mount in the rear??? Could someone explain or post some pics of how it is dome?

Thanks, oh and to the setup above me, that is awesome!!

BTW I do not plan on hopping. Just a little FBSS , maby some 3 wheel,,,,,and titanium blocks for when I drag the rear end.

It all boils down to preference. I won't say names, but I will say one thing about cheap/street kits. They are cheap for one reason. They use cheap parts, and you get what you pay for. At the same time I do believe there is a limit in price. If a hydraulic distributor can price their products a lot higher than the competition and people are willing to pay it who am I to say its too much? Again just my opinion.

I grew up a few hrs from Kansas City and a lot of the homies back in the day use to run Lona and Sons. Heard nothing but good things about the product, and if they needed parts they could get them in about a day vs. ordering parts from the west coast and waiting up to a week. I'm not too sure about the quality in there work now, but back in the day it was another story. A few of the guys that had Lona install the set ups had to have some of the work fixed or redone. Not saying they are shady, but they may have just lacked knowledge in certain areas at that time.

The only area that a lot of hydraulic companies hurt in is customer service. I don't like to pass hear say info around, but I have seen (with my own eyes) CCE hydraulics make some unprofessional responses to customers with product issues. Those remarks were enough for me to say I would not do business with them for fear of having a problem with their product and not being able to have it resolved. So just make sure you get some prices, do a little shopping around, and check out their feedback. If you check out layitlow.com you can see some of the feedback of some of the hydraulic companies, but be warned that there is a whole lot of cheer leading going on there. I would sift through all the hear say and look for the issues that come straight from the horse's mouth.

masters of misinformation in this thread holy sh*t.
#1 dros will NEVER be as reliable as bags
#2 they will NEVER ride as good or better than bags even with accumulators
#3 the sounds of the dumps are ****in sweet
#4 anyone ever heard of engine driven comperessors? you dont need to hear the comps going if its engine driven.

hydros are fun, i have nothing against them and if done right, they still wont be reliable like bags. i bagged my SS and i have a smooth as silk ride, way better than factory and i can lay and play all i want, not to mention its cheaper and less maintenance. again, dont get me wrong i love dros and the sounds they make and i will have them in another car, but not as a summer daily/cruiser, without cumes, youd think twice to drive down the highway trust me.

#1 A 12volt or 24v hydraulic system is practically bullet proof, and if done correctly will out perform an average bag setup, and have more travel(lay lower, lift higher). The problem is most people want more power and abuse there cars by hopping, 3 wheeling, etc.

#2 When dialed in, either setup can ride great. but at the same time either can ride terrible. I know people who had owned bagged rides that rode like sh*t, and I know people who have rides with hydro and accumulators that ride better then factory. It all comes down to what you want out of the car.

#3 that is preference...I personally think that the sound of air bags dumping is annoying, but I love the sound of the motor spinning on a juiced car.

#4 your right about engine driven compressors. That is what the hydraulics industry needs. maybe something similar to a power steering pump. probably wouldn't work well for hopping but I think it would be perfect for lay and play...and it would save a ton of room.

your pretty good at misinformation yourself....but change to NEVER to USUALLY AREN'T and your post makes a lot more sense.
