Back in the day my old man use to take his limos, (back then people smoked in them) to a upholstery repair place an they used Vinyl powder an super glue, mixed them together to fill burn holes. Then they would have a tool with different patterns (about 1" round) he would wait a couple minutes after putting vinyl mix into patch area, then press to match pattern of vinyl. Then mix vinyl paint up to match color an airbrush to cover. Looked great but it didn't have the original flexibility, Alittle hard.

IMO, a 2 part bumper repair material would be better

I was also thinking about this. The black 3M stuff is pretty cheap at the local auto parts chains

Get the flock out of here!
Seriously, that fuzzy stuff is called flock; we had a flock gun at the stereo shop back in the day..... It was basically like an old time, hand pump, sprayer

Now I see that is what you are going to do, very interested to see how this turns out. I ended up buying a full used dash that doesn't have any cracks in it but I am sure that will change. I was able to get the whole dash for the price I would have paid for the piece between the dash and the gauges, I have yet to get it in hand though because it was up in Detroit so I had my cousin pick it up for me since she is only like 10 minutes away.

Any flexible auto body polyester filler will work. I prefer the two-part kind. My local auto body supply shop carries this USC Icing stuff. Works great and is easy to sand. Maintaining the vinyl grain may be tough to do without a pattern to press into it..

Is that a brown cutlass dash gage surround?

I've got an almost mint one sitting in dad's storage shed. If you want it cover shipping and it's yours.
