So i currently have a 4 bolt 350 vortec oem roller engine and i'm at the point in the build where i have all the parts, Now i need a machine shop to bore .30 over(w/torque plates) and align hone the block along with tap the head for 7/16 arp rocker studs seat the valves and a valve job (aluminum 2.02 angle heads) the heads are brand new. the block is out of a truck that was recently rebuilt 50k ago.

I think that's all i need done to the motor/heads but any additional recommendations are welcome, this is the first time I'm build a block for power over 500hp and my first 383 build so i might be over looking stuff lol

additional details:
crank: scat 9000
rods: ibeam scat
Flywheel: scat
pistons: forged flat tops with fly cut valve relieves
ARP EVERYTHING
heads: aluminum china brand that I've read countless positive reviews
valve train: http://www.jegs.com/i/COMP+Cams/249/K08-303-8/10002/-1
1.6 roller rockers
7501 rpm air gap intake

I would say work on finding a reputable shop first, ask around, go to local car shows or the track and if you keep hearing the same place recommended then maybe talk to that shop and let them know your game plan for the engine and get pricing.
I have more questions than answers for you.
Do you plan on running nitrous? Since the cam you have chosen will make the most power while on the bottle if it is N/A I would pick a different cam.
Since the block was rebuilt already are you sure it is not already 30 over and was it previously decked?
If the block was not bored and maybe just honed then I would say you will need a bore and hone and possibly a line hone at most if necessary.
They will have to mock up your rotating assembly and check clearances with the stroker crank and rods.
If the rotating assembly is not balanced you will have to have that done also.
If the heads are assembled it shouldn't need a valve job but I would get them verified and they will have to install the springs that match your cam.
I am curious at to who you bought your parts from and which brand heads you bought and what cc and runner size are they?
Hopefully the heads were designed with the possibility of going with a 7/16" stud.
Also angle plug heads usually end up having issues when trying to fit spark plugs with headers, most headers are not designed for this style head.

Yes i got the block from my uncle he got it out of a long time customers truck

it'll def need an a line hone and bore'd unfortunately lol

balanced from skip white

skip white for bottom end
jegs for valve train
eBay cheap assault heads 64cc and i think its a 200cc runners
craigslisted a few parts here and their mainly name brand amazon.com a few other parts again no knock off bs brands aside from the heads
reasoning for the cheapo heads are well they are cheap lol although not as reliable as other name brands after the car is up and running ill be able to worry about buying better heads down the road if i don't just sell the car off.

Hopefully the heads were designed with the possibility of going with a 7/16" stud.

If the block isn't a 4 bolt and you're planning to sent to to a machine shop have you considered splayed caps

As 565 stated the heads should already except 7/16 studs and be cut for larger springs. (Check out the Comps Cams learning center) Please read up on valve train geometry too many miss the boat here . Make sure your valve springs are put in to their proper install height - buy a spring height micrometer is the easiest. Don't know why you want 1.6 rockers you might open a can of worms, anyway check your piston to valve clearance, coil bind, and clearance between your valve retainer and top of seal. What is the car going to be used for and what are the specs on the heads. Enjoy the build !!

1.6's are to get a little more out of it and so long as there's no issues with the valve springs binding or the valves touching then there's no issues lol. the heads are 64cc chambers with 200cc runners im going to have my buddy port match them to get a little more flow through them he does all our heads (the group of car buddies).

this build started out as me just being bored with nothing to do so i was looking for a project s10 to swap a 350 on boost into then i found a monte for 1500 (it was sold) then i found an el camnio for 1g and it wasen't worth it so i finally found my monte down in homestead fl for 1200.
but now its become a grudge build because all the Honda/import guys i know keep shaking their heads about how much is going into the build and how its just going to be a slug because its so heavy and bla bla bla power to weight ratio bullshit but don't take the time to do anything to their gearing ratios other than swap out 1 trans for another, mean while these guys never been behind the wheel of a built v8.

i guess short answer is, race/ street/ general dickery
