So I have my alt belt on and its working good.
I have the power steering belt on even though I don't have power steering yet, until I put on the hoses.
But the water pump hose is not on and has never been, so what I was wondering is do you have to have it on and if so what does it do exactly, I am sorry this is a very lame question just wanted to know.

Thank you all in advanced.

first off don't start the car without the power steering set up if you have the belt on, you'll burn your power steering pump. The belt for the water pump has to be on so the coolant is pumped through the engine or it'll over heat. If I'm not mistaken the belt for the alternator also drives the water pump

So take off the Power steering belt asap.
Also I don't need the water pump cause the alt already does the job?

I said I think the belt for the alternator also drives the water pump. In order to drive the water pump the belt has to be on the pulley for the water pump. And yes remove the power steering belt if there is no power steering fluid, the power steering fluid cools the pump

Okay I am going to take it off now thanks.
Okay I will check the alt belt to see if it does i am almost positive it does but just in case I might get a belt for the water pump to be 110% sure.
