Bent 7.5 Axel TubeTube

If that axle tube is bent, I'd make sure the frame is still square. For the the sway bar, I used a set of gate hinge ends to replace the OE inserts. They needed some grinding to fit, but after welding them together they held up. I just gotta clean them up to reuse them again. A set welded in before boxing would help keep the arms stiff with the at the sway bar.
The frame looks good, but I am sure it is a little tweeted. I know the rear left frame rail was bent. The previous owner told me he put it on his frame machine and pulled it back where it should be.

If the axle tube is bent then the axles itself should be bent, have you put the rear end up in the air and spun the back wheels? I've seen axle tubes bent but not at the weld....if you put a level on the left tube and then the right tube that will tell you if the tube is bent

I will give you a little more insight on the car. The original owner put 70000 miles on the car. She took it all over the country showing it. The car has never seen snow. She repainted it once and replace the engine with a factory turbo engine. She thought the engine was using oil. After replacing the engine it still used oil, so she bought a turbo. Before the turbo got replace the car was hit by a big truck. The mirror of the truck damaged the window trim and then creemed the left quarter panel. Took out the trunk lid, quarter panel, and rear bumper. The insurance company totaled it. She then decided to sell it, and the second owner bought it. He straightened the frame, replaced the trunk lid, and rear bumper. He beat out the quarter panel, bondoed and painted the quarter panel and bumper. He left the trunk lid maroon. He put the new turbo on and messed all the vacuum lines up. Then parked it in a shed for 10 years. I was looking for a better car than what I had, and remembered the car from when I was in high school. (1996) It took a few months to get it bought. I have been working on it since last year. No rust any were, interior is a 90 out of a 100, paint buffed out good, under the car is still painted. I painted the trunk lid to match and buffed the over spray line on the sail panel. Replaced the damaged trim. My plan is to slowly modify it to my liking as I go, and drive it. After my kids get older I plan to fix the quarter panel right and repaint the car. So if one of them draw a picture on it or run a bike into it I will not cry too much!

Rearend is already out on the ground and ready to put the 8.5 in. It doesn't really matter either way, I am replacing it. It is making the junk pile instead of the hording stash! I will look into it more for you followers that just want to know. I have never seen one leak like that either.

I will get some pics of the ones I did on my Aero Coupe

I finally had some time yesterday to pull my lower control arms off the car. It has been a month since I have worked on the car. I brought some steel today to box the arms. I am looking for pictures of factory lower control arms that people have boxed them selfs. If anyone has pictures of this I would love to see how you did it. Not sure on how much I actually need to inclose.

I will take some pics today, I totally forgot.

I did find that picture. Not sure if I should box the arm like that or just the middle section. The middle section would be a lot easier. Thanks for the picture.
