Better V-6 fuel economy

These cars didn't get horrible fuel mileage back in the 80's with these setups. They are not going to all of a sudden get bad mileage because of the high rear gear now. There are other underlying conditions causing the poor fuel mileage. If you have a V6 GBody with the stock rear-end gear and you are getting 10mpg, there is some type of fuel issue

cut the cat off that b*tch.... my monte if now catless after i was revving it and it was basically sniffling through the raise in rpm and when i cut the cat off it coughed all the diseases mediocrity of emissions and now she runs like a champ

your cat must have been clogged due to some excessively rich condition or just ancient age, Ive seen first hand on a flow bench that the difference in a street vehicle the differences between a gutted cat and one thats in good working condition is pretty much inconsequential but in ultra high revving applications in high displacement, high compression engines it can be a bit of an hindrance. it sound a little cooler without one too though lol

I can sell ya a 2.29 rear end cheap for the highway lol!!!

my car actually runs a little lean and has been for years.. the previous owner was complaining about getting too good of gas mileage so his mechanic (my father) richened it up... cats are always a hindrance... and when removed nearly always provide 1< miles per gallon and more power output and this is especially true in diesels... putting an orange in your tailpipe only makes tree huggers and homosexuals happy, not car enthusiasts and not people who want their car to have impressive longevity

Who complains about too good of fuel mileage :?: :? You would have to be retarded.

"man, this car of mine is getting like 30mpg and I just can't stand it. I love putting gas in my car"

according to the rpo i have a 2.14 already i think lol good try though 😀
Damn! I need to get rid of this boat anchor lol!

2.14 yuck! That can be a problem if she does not see a lot of interstate as you often have to smash the gas pedal so hard just to accelerate with traffic from a light etc. GM usually put lower gears (numerically higher) behind the 3.8 to help it get moving.

Heh when I had the 509 Caddy powered Cutty with low gears & a 200-4R I had to train myself to use less throttle leaving a stop as it would quickly & easily without meaning to out accelerate traffic. The combination of low end torque, gearing and responsiveness of the Q-jet was over the top. I would always end up letting off the pedal completely and often tap the brake and then back on the gas. Yea in town mileage sucked because I often jumped back and forth between a mini van and the Cutty but highway mileage was better than I expected.
