I've noticed ever since I put my 454 in the Malibu, the back of the car feels awfully loose when it shifts into second gear under moderate throttle. Almost feels like when your tires are spinning in first and grabbing traction into second, kicking the rear end straight, but my tires aren't spinning.

I haven't put this thing up onto a hoist yet to have a look, but I thought I'd get some opinions. Am I most likely looking at control arms? Or is this powerhouse twisting the frame already 8)

I was thinking about putting one of my old big blocks in my wagon parts car.

I'm curious on what transmission you have behind it? Have you changed gear ratio? Is the front real low or did you swap the front springs? Can't ask any other questions until I know what transmission you have currently. ...

Took the car to the shop today. A buddy of mine that works there couldnt find any slop anywhere, but mentioned my shocks are toast. This could be the issue, but on the flip side this could be dampening the issue if it is my frame twisting a bit. I'll just replace the shocks and track down all the notorious gbody braces, which will help a lot I'm sure.

I've got the TH400 that came out with the 454 from a 3/4 ton 4x4. I had to get a new slip yoke for the driveshaft because the 4x4 transmission had a bolt on yoke to the tailshaft.
This was definitely a budget weekend project (or so i thought.) I didn't change the gears, still the stock 2.28's, or change the springs, and it sits at least 2" lower in the front.
