My normal rule of thumb is if it isn't a savings of more than 20% it isn't worth it.

Keep in mind that the interwebs has allowed every wh*re under the sun to sell products with little to no margin, so getting an additional 10% is not unreasonable.

I.E - I just bought a Terminator X for a little less than a $1K from a vendor selling them on line at less than 5% over cost. That same Holley kit goes for $1150 from Summit and Jegs. Take the 10% off and they are working on the same sub 5% profit margin.

I started the thread to help those that might be interested something that they need at a discount - obviously that went to hell in a hand basket in short order. Won't do that again

you're welcome... :giggle:

Thanks, but next time please make a larger commitment. Those are the cold/wet weather boots: overall they do a good job insulating from the elements - however... the soles turn into hockey pucks at freezing temps and are very treacherous when walking (skating?) on ice.

That same internet has brought us this group of goons! I appreciate your original intention as well as the effort it took to post it up. The rest of the filler is just the cream on top.

Don't take it the wrong way - we're just farting around. I started the same thread last year and like most threads it probably took a detour. And you are right, we have seen a massive adjustment in what "Black Friday" deals are - it used to be large savings on old stock in retail stores. Now it is just incremental savings on online stuff with lower overhead/margins coming out of large warehouses.

I ordered a 2 TB SSD external HD for the Mrs on Friday and paid full retail price for it in Canada because it was still cheaper than any of the BF/CM deals on other units I could find in the US for comparable basic storage options.

So far a total waste of time. Not even Fleabay Bucks. In fact I bought a couple of Quisinart food processors for my Daughters from Macys a few days ago. The price was unbeatable. So Kohl's sends me an email offer of $15 Kohl's cash for every $50 spent (redeemable only the next week), plus $10 off every $50 plus 20% off. Sounds great? Macy's was still cheaper. EDIT: Then good 'ol Sears had a microwave I bought for a Daughter and they had the best price of all last week. Plus $101 in Cash Back Points in $25 increments. Tool time!!

20% off a lot of their popular stuff. Ends today, though. Didn't even know it was on sale. They DON'T usually have sales, because if a product works, they normally won't put it on sale I suppose.

I "built" a pro kit from on sale items, that in kit form is $91.70 + $9.95 shipping. With the 20% savings (and didn't get the applicator as that's another $2.50- they give you a free one anyway for orders over $25) for 80 bucks plus the shipping by purchasing individually. A couple of things weren't on sale, but the kit is the same stuff I bought except no applicator, and I have some of those already.

I'm restocked again! This shiit goes a long way.
