That's where ALL of them exit. Don't confuse "block hugger" headers with shorty headers. Block huggers are designed for street rods with a narrow chassis and no crossmember under the engine. If there's a crossmember, the headers point straight at it.

No, that's what this forum is for. You're smart for asking first. EVERYONE learns something here whether it's to save money or not. 😉
 
cheap ones just require maintenance where the expensive ones can go a few years without rusting.

I like the real cheap ceramic coated or painted ones, just take them out once a year, sand them down, and spray some heat paint on them (4$ a can), cure with engine heat.
