Okay you guys are probably sick of my issues by now but i have another lol. Today i rewired my starter and ignition wires from the harness. The 3 red ignitions from the cars harness that go to the starter had to be replaced and the positive battery cable as well. I added a fusable link from the alternator and starter as well. The issue im having now is my car is blowing the inline fuse i installed. Its a 30 amp fuse so that shouldnt be the reason. unless the car runs on a higher amperage than i was aware. My floorboard light under the dash on the pass side of the car would almost seem like it has a huge surge in power it would get super bright then go back to normal and after the inline fuse would be blown and the car wouldnt start again. Im not an expert on automotive wiring but i can do most stuff with instuction lol.

I installed the fuse right by the battery. One of the 3 wires that go to the starter solenoid is hooked up to it and also the wire from the alternator to positive terminal on the battery. those 2 are together and go straight into the inline fuse. Im not sure how the wiring is supposed to be, the engine is a 77'-79' olds 350 in a 87 cutlass supreme. I have the chilton repair book but its not very helpful in certain cases of this type of situation.

If I understand you right you replace a fusible link with an inline fuse. You cannot do that, and fusible link is not the same as a fuse. A fusible link can get an overload and heat up without burning whereas a fuse will blow

I added one actually. theres actually the inline fuse still in the harness that looks factory. when the fuse blows it almost seems like a surge in power my lights get really bright and go back to normal

Can you post some pictures of the wiring on the starter, fuseable links, battery, alternator and any other places the wiring has been changed by you or the previous owner.

For one, you don't need a fuse in the wire between the alternator and battery. That can go.

Why did you change the wiring around from the stock layout? It should have all connected right back up to the new engine the same as the original. Did you add in a Ford remote solenoid?

FE3X Clone what i did before was wrong and told you guys wrong. I figured it out when my dad came and helped me figure it out. But i got it back to how it was orignally works fine now if not better then before. Sorry for the confusion guys i do appreciate all your help.
