with all the wheels out there that do fit properly why choose a wheel that does not have the correct bolt pattern?

Are those 7series rims :?:

they are optional for anything other than the base model 525i. They didnt come on 7 series. There is a similar 16 version that did come on the 7 series but it is cast one piece.

None of the traditional domestic wheel manufacturers out there make a mesh wheel like this. And I love mesh 2 and 3 piece wheels. If there was, they have long since been discontinued. The only one I found even close was the gta/ gnx wheels, which i do like but they only come in 16in. They wont work with the big brake system I have planned. The 5x120mm is not a problem with hubcentric rings to center the wheel. Even without them I didnt notice any vibration at speed. I heard that there is the potential for studs breaking but I havent had any issues. Wheels like this are super expensive to have them made with the 5x4.75 bolt pattern.
