Body mounts

There are lots of threads on body mounts. I prefer a Google search over the forum's search engine. Try "g body forum body mount". Material choice is a preference deal. Urethane will last longer but is often said to be stiffer.
I looked at both rubber and urethane when shopping for mounts a few years back. The rubber oem style cost twice as much as urethane which helped me make a decision quicker, and I got the prothane kit and got the correct metric class 10.9 flange head bolts to fasten them.
The little I got to drive the cutlass last year before the motor took a sh*t I have to say it felt like it was on rails which I love!!! However, my whole suspension is new minus springs, shocks, and rear lca's so not 100% if it's the new mounts making it stiff or not.

I have the urethane ones on my Monte and just finished installing them also on my Regal project, I expect them to last far longer than the rubber ones and with the new super comfy seats in the Regal I doubt I would be able to feel any difference in the ride.

On a rustfree car with bo bolt breaking, using a 2 post lift, it can be done in an hour.

On a garagefloor, with all bomts breaking, you might as well take a loan in the house and do a full teardown and rebuild while LS swapping it!

That's kinda how my ordeal went! Was gonna replace the core support ones and check the others. Had all of the bolts out except the trunk....I thought the bolt broke loose until I pulled the ratchet out and half of the bolts and mount came along for the ride.....hence the pic I posted earlier in this thread. Ended up cutting 4 holes in the trunk and got it done.

I was poking around my, 1986 SS made in Arlington, it had every body bushing including the #5 position. They all look original.

that is when I would want to change them, treat everything in the areas to stop and prevent rust and butter the bolts with anti seize when putting them back in...

I treat body bushings like I do Regal bumper fillers, they may look fine now but it's only a matter of time before they deteriorate.
