Will the booster of a 79 Malibu work on a 78?

they are different on teh outside...

is there a booster thats better thatll bolt on a 78?

It will work. The 78 has it's own parts listing, so there is something different, like using standard threads and all of the later ones use metric.

Also, they look different because one is probably a delco unit and one is bendix. You can use either one...
