im trying to save as much money as i can on upgrading parts so i can focus most of my money on my engine and trans. so i was debating on boxing the stock control arms and installing new bushings vs spending 300+ on aftermarket control arms. anyone else do this and how well do they hold up. is it just a waste of time and should i just upgrade to aftermarket? i just started a new side job for the summer working at a bike shop and my friend the owner gave me the okay to use any equipment and material i need to help me with my project car. or would it be better to just use the stocks ones till i have the extra cash to get aftermarket?

thats what id like to know. if the peeps who box em buy aftermarket anyway. i dont want to spend the time cutting and measuring and welding to box the stock ones to just end up buying aftermarket anyway.

If im not wrong the stock ones even boxed are two things, they r not as strong as the tubular aftermarket ones and they are heavier after you add all the metal. that being said i have seen some really nicely done ones on here that look close to some of the box version aftermarket ones u can buy. So id say save urself the time and trouble and save for some, on jegs they arent that expencive.
