I have used $50 HF wheel dollies in the past to move project cars around on smooth concrete. I find they dont work as well on gravel or grass 🙂

Welcome back BTW, there was talk of printing up posters and putting your face on milk cartons.... but nobody knows what your look like.

I t would have been kinda odd asking " have you seen this guy ?? No I dont know what he looks like but he drives a stick shift wagon bonneville, LOL

Well, ya gotta love this interweb thingy. I found out that there is a shifter interlock over ride button located just above the indicator letters on '98-'02 Corollas. You pop a little cover off, insert a small screwdriver, and press down unlocking the shifter. http://rinconrolla98.blogspot.com/2010/02/diy-shift-lock-control-system-corolla.html I will try that tomorrow. That should allow me to try and roll the car towards the street. Hopefully it will clear the gate. If not, then I do as Steve suggested and attack the ignition lock. I'm not counting on the relatives finding the key but you never know. Oh, and just for the record, here is a picture of me just in case you ever need to put me on a milk carton or wanted poster. I am pretty easy to recognize when I need to be.

I thought you quit taking steroids?.......😛

If it veers off line, why not pick it up with a floor jack and pull it back over?

No, the dealer is in New Jersey somewhere. (This is NYC- you need the title or regi to get a key made. Otherwise I'd steal your car!) And no, it's one of those driveways with two lanes and dirt down the middle. And the concrete has seen better days. Old house, old lady, there's even a maple tree trying to grow right through the holes of one wheel. I know it sounds like I'm making a lot out of nothing, but getting this car gone is key. Then a big dumpster will be placed in the driveway so the house can be emptied out. No steroids Steve, I've looked like this ever since I got the Swine Flu vaccination back in '76.

Success!!! The little plastic plug was there. I popped it out and lo and behold- there was a little black square button under it. Push the button and the shifter is released, Amazing! Put it in neutral, hooked a chain to the front and used the wagon to pull it as far as the sidewalk. It went straight. Now if the tow guy can get at it we're done. If not, I can probably push it out into the street, jack up the front, and slip a steel plate dolly I have under it as axisg suggested. Then I can push it to the curb or point it at the tow truck. We shall see.

Do you still have the stick in the wagon or did you switch it out to the automatic like you were contemplating last year...
