hi guys here's my problem. My small block 350 had spark plug#2 wet with oil. So I replaced all the plugs, from the coil to the wires there's spark I know for sure but it's still rough and pulled number 2 off there was no difference. It does have an aluminum intake and was supposedly rebuilt.
I do have an ls swap for it but I'm not ready to do it.
What should I do at this point to try to figure out what exactly it is. I would like to know exactly what it is and then make a decision if I'm going fix it or just start my swap. Atleast if someone wants the engine I can also tell them exactly what's up.
Thanks.

Thanks that's what I'm hoping so I can do a quick repair and enjoy it for the summer. Take my time with my swap and do it right. I don't want to just rush it in there so I can drive the car.
What should I do in order to figure it out?

you can take the valve cover off and inspect the valve seals and do a leak down test to check the rings.

It might not hurt to make sure the distributor is stabbed right by bringing number 1 to TDC and make sure the rotor is pointing at the number one terminal on the cap. Then double check the firing order and routing of the plug wires. I'm guessing this is not your problem but is worth a check. If that checks out then do a compression test and a leak down test like pontiacgp recommended. A vacuum gauge is also a useful diagnostic aid. Once you have the results of these tests you can make a diagnosis or post up for some opinions.

I know you said "from the coil to the wires there's spark". The first thing I would do is throw a spark tester in #2 wire & verify spark. My first instinct when I see a wet plug is the plug is not firing. If you confirm you have spark then I would do as mentioned above & do a wet & dry compression check, or ideally a leakdown test.

Thanks guys
The plug was wet oil. I tried the timing and even pulled all the wires off and reinstalled them to make sure the firing order was good.
I didnt get to it this past weekend, next weekend im going to try to play with it for a while.

Well guys I haven't had time to toy with the car for a while but I finally did this weekend. Here's what I found

Push rod is bent too. I think I found all the pieces. There's a machine shop I hit Thursday's I'll see if they have what I need. Then I'll have to adjust them all because there all loose. I'm hoping that's all and I can cruise it for the summer and take my time doing the ls swap.
