The L69 qjets had different ID numbers than the LG4 qjets

no I just meant that if the Qjet had an ID that would have come on an HO engine it would be another indicator that is could be an HO engine. And the carb is up top where its pretty ez to check the number.

ALL 305's are L.O. (LOW OUTPUT)

If you discover your car is fitted with one, remove it promptly and roll it off in some high weeds. Preferrably so that it lands with the intake facing up with the carb removed. This way it can rain in it.

Remember fellas, "There's no replacement for displacement".

I agree to the fullest, however some folks keep them for the nostalgia of it... I had a friend with a stock Monte SS and the biggest single modification that can be done was headers, it was like night and day!

it gets so old listening to everyone bash 305's...everyones situation is different and im sure anyone would love a 502 super charged to the t*ts... anyhow, im still wondering if anyone knows what i can take a duel snorkel or ram air breather off of that will fit my 4barrel quad. even if it wont make any performance difference ive always liked em and thought they looked cool. sadly enough to say, ive seen stock ford 302's walk all over done up 350's...

The L69 305 H/0 is a lot more motor then the LG4 305. The H/O has a aluminum intake with a 795cfm Quadrajet carburetor,Cross-fire Camaro heads, 9.5:1 compression with flattop pistons and Corvette L-81 camshaft and would pull hard to 5500to 5700 rpm.

Doug

Yep, the L69 also has larger jets in it carb, more aggressive spark timing programmed into the ECM's PROM chip, higher stall torque converter, and a higher flowing 4 bolt flange cat conveter. 190 HP in stock trim in good tune, can easily be bumped up to 250 HP in street legal trim.

250 hp is nothing to sneeze at! all the 305 bashing I hear and many people are stuck with them because of legal issues. 250 is respectable for sure! So what if you can get 300+ out of a 350, most of us live in states that wont allow a swap like that... if they find out about it...
