I thought about the zf vette 6 speeds also. Not a whole lot of info on them, but best I've ever heard there weren't any known issues with them, gm just switched to borg warner as the 1st t-56 supplier.

ZFs are to be left alone. If they don't work, they're supposed to be sent back for service, kind of like an Auburn posi.

There are a lot of transmissions out there like that and people will still rebuild them.
