Hahaha. I did get 1 finger a while ago, bled like a b*tch too. I have the factory shroud still on the car. I think it is big enough to clear the new fan blades.

I'm glad you got rid of the flex fan. They are garbage and as that one shows they break apart and send shrapnel everywhere.

A good stock clutch fan would work great or go electric. NO MORE FLEX FANS!!!

You need a fan shroud as well.

Put a carb spacer under that Edelbrock. Preferably wood but phenolic will work as well.
Will any square bore spacer work or do I need a specific one

Got my new fan. Looks nice. Definately heavy duty. So much that the bolts aren't long enough due to the thicker metal. Will need to get longer bolts tomorrow

It is a well made fan, at least the original GM ones were, mine is nearly 50 years old. It actually doesn't hurt too bad when it hits you☺. You should have a very noticeable drop compared to that wrecked flex fan.

I'm hoping to see some sort of difference after replacing that broken junk. Usually runs around 200F. Even with the 160 thermostat. So it will be nice to see what happens with the new fan.

Guess I can make my mind up. 4 hole 1" spacer. Supposedly may increase low end torque? Just hope it doesn't hit the hood
