well took it to my mechanic. he said he needed to adjust the carb. he did that and it runs much better. whats does adjusting the carb actually mean? and could it go "out" of adjustment later on and cause these problems again?
He probably just adjusted the idle.
 
and the idle mixture screws are a common adjustment.
carb's will need adjustment from time to time, it's normal maintnance.
