Good Morning Everyone,

I am new to the Forum and I would like to say hello to everyone and I'm glad to be apart of the great group. I have been having a fuel problem with my 1985 Monte Carlo SS. Carburetor setup with a Mr. Gasket 95 GPH electrical fuel pump. When I drive the car on the highway in either stop and go traffic or open road, the car cuts off after I get off the exit. Sometimes I can feel it stuttering while on the highway giving out but once I let off the gas and get back on it the car comes back to normal for a short amount of time. Once the car shuts off it usually takes 5 to 10 minutes of sitting before it allows me to start it back up. The car drives fine on the street just acts different after being driven at high speeds. Anybody ran into this problem before or have a solution?

If your running an aluminum intake block the exhaust crossovers that'll fix your problem.

First thing: Way too much fuel pump. Is there a return? What happened to the original pump?
Letting off gas and going to normal indicates it may be running out of gas or possibly carb not being vented, air cleaner hot air intake not opening and carb overheating?
Is gas cap the proper one?
Post a pic of under hood and other mods you have done

I have a 355 small block, qiuckfuel 750 VS and other upgrades. Carb is throwing gas up in the breather.

airboatgreg has a good point, too much fuel pressure. The pump you have is rated for 7 lbs but the Quickfuel says no more than 6.5 lbs. Do you have a fuel pressure regulator?

I'd start by rechecking your float levels.
I recently rebuilt the Carb but just put a fuel regulator on it last night. Thing was getting 10 PSI. Crazy I know lol. I think i have to replace the carb tho because when it is tuned low for my cam it chops but soon as I drive it the thing dies out. When we re adjust it for High idle it runs fine now.
