hi
i own a 85 gp v6 andi was wondering how to find out which aftermarket pats fit for example the carburator?
im looking at holleys but i dont know which one would fit
thanx

what carb do you have now and as far as aftermarket products what do you have in mind for your GP

well first things first
you have a v6 which means you most likely have a 2bbl intake
if you want to upgrade to a different aftermarket 2bbl carb
ill go ahead and tell you your wasting your time

do enough research on the 3.8l v6 and you'll understand that unless its a turbo engine
its crap
you can do all the mods you want
and yes you will gain some power
but in the end of the day
youv'e still got a v6 thats slow as hell

trust me i started in the same place you are in
your better off just doing a transplant to a better engine (350, 383, 454, 455, ect.)

but if your not up for the transplant heres a couple links ive found on the v6 to help you attempt to bolt on horsepower
but just remember before you go dumping everything in your pocket into the v6
horsepower doesnt bolt on

what do you want to upgrade first....if you are thinking about the engine it`s up to you what you want to do with it...but if you are looking for some power you probably do want to consider a SBC...the other things to think about is upgrading the suspension and brakes so the car can handle the power safely..

What they mean by SBC is Small block Chevy, most commonly, a Chevy 350.

With your car, it's a walk in the park. Find a friend who knows his way around an oldschool chevy motor, and tell him you want to swap it into your Gbody. He'll probably ask why it doesn't already have one, good luck!
