I need help once again.
This time its about the carbs, I have gotten 3 carbs already and they all poured gas out of the barrels. Not just a little but a lot of gas.
It will fill up the space between the intake and valve covers.
But my question is, is it possible to have gotten 3 bad carbs that all have the exact same problem?
Or could it be my intake not getting enough gas or getting to much and flooding it and spilling it out.

I just need help with this problem because this is the last thing to make my car run and last and not have anymore problems.
everything else is done and replaced.
Now I just have to figure out this problem and fix it or just get an entire new carb?

what happened exactly is: I will be driving and when I hit the gas I guess to much will come in so it rejects it from the barrels and the sides, which will kill my car and we have to pull over and it will never start again.
so I had to get it towed home because it would not start up again.

Also wondering what was better, edelbrock or Holley?

Thanks in advance for the replies, I hope you all know what it could be, because I am at a loss here.
Thanks again, God Bless.

I'll admit, I'm really not understanding your description of what your problem is. Where exactly is the gas coming out of? The top of the carb? What carb do you have, a Qjet? Are you running an electric fuel pump?

I find it hard to believe you got 3 different carbs that all had the same weird problem ( which I still don't get exactly what that actually is...). Were all these carbs the same kind?

What happens when you gun it in park and watch the carb? Where exactly do you see the gas leaking?

A Qjet is better than both Edelbrocks or Hollys for an application like yours.

P.S. Don't think fixing this problem will be 'the last thing to make your car run and last and not have anymore problems'. You're always going to have to work on something because it's an old car and it's been modded.

Possible, but doubtful, unless you've had them apart and put all 3 back together wrong.

I agree with DoubleV, for daily driving, stick with the Q-Jet.

I would suspect a fuel pressure problem...too much pressure to the carb forcing gas past the float. If you are running an electric pump, make sure its not above 4-5psi or else you need a pressure regulator to reduce the pressure to the carb.
Good luck...keep us posted on the results.

Its coming from the top, and the bottom seeps a bit.
To be honest I don't know if I am running a electric fuel pump.
I have a qjet, yes sir.
They were all q jets, yes.
If its in park sometimes it will be fine no backfire no fuel loss or leak, sometimes it will spit the gas out of the top and bottom.
I know I will always have a car that will need some fixing But in general it will work for the time being until that problem occurs.

Oh no I wouldn't pull them apart cause I know I couldn't get it back together right, i know how hard it is to set the floats all back and everything so no I never tried taking them apart.

Should I really stick with a qjet, I thought it would be better to get something "better".

Its stock so I have no idea if its electric, but I think not but again I could be wrong.
But if it is how could I know or possibly reduce the psi?

If you have an electric pump, you will hear it running when you turn the ignition on. If you do have an electric, you will need to check the pressure with a fuel pressure tester, which you can rent from AZ. If you have a stock manual pump, then I am at a loss as to what would cause the major fuel leakage. Improper vacuum can be suspected or a bent/burnt valve which causes backpressure into the intake manifold. But it doesnt sound like that is the case here because you would know that you had a bad valve ... a constant miss is one sign and popping through the carb is another.

I don't hear it whenever I turn the car on so I assume I don't have one.
But I already got all my vacuum lines ran or blocked (for the ones that had no home).
But as for getting a new car, I was wondering would it be better if I rebuilt mine or just got a new Qjet?

Neither. Go buy a 200 dollar edelbrock 600. You will need a spacer/adapter and a couple gaskets. If the carb is your problem that will fix it and you will never have to touch it again for a long time. I think rebuilding a quadrajet would be beyond your ability. No offense intended. Buying a new quadrajet would be too expensive. As far as your fuel pump, follow the fuel line from the carb and see where it goes. If it goes into a pump hanging off the passengers side of your engine block then you have a mechanical. Which I am sure you probably do.
