oh ok. Veering off topic, but do i need to keep ANY of the hoses attached to that emissions cyllinder / bypass anything/ Or just trash it all

Depends on what you want to run. What would be your setup?

Nope, you can totally isolate it from the engine and remove it if you want to. All it did was capture fuel vapor from the gas tank and from the carb bowl, and when the engine was hot, it sucked all the vapors in the intake for better fuel mileage.

I would go 800 cfm at least if you are at 400 hp. Having the larger primary side has advantages. Just give them your engine specs and they should get close tune wise.

I called up SMI carbs and they said they take 7 weeks to build a carb. That's out of the question for me, as I want to get my monty together and my T Tops off before the summer is over... 😢

Next best Q-Jet to buy for a street performance engine? I need a place to start looking.

If you need any more specs than which are already listed in the thread, let me know.

I mentioned Dean Oliver of Deano's Carbs on the first page. Did you call him?

No, but I don't believe they sell any off the shelf carbs based on what it says on their websites. I will still be giving them a call shortly, thanks for the tip again! If anyone else knows any good Qjet carb websites which sell carbs off the shelf, let me know! Thanks
