in the Desert!
So after chatting with RITTER we came to the conclusion that the HOLLEY he was offering to rebuild would not work with my car because of the computer. (wich it would I really wanted it 🙁 ) He mentioned theres places that sent you rebuild carbs and then you send the core back. This is exactly what I need since It is my DD.

Has anyone ever heard of this place http://www.guaranteedcarburetors.com/ca ... tor/1.html

Has anyone ever used them? They say they come already adjusted so it should be a straight swap.

I had excellent luck with http://www.recarbco.com/ out in California. You can buy a carb with or without sending a core back. You'll get back $40 or $50 for the core. Prices were good and the quality was excellent. This was for my '69 Cutlass, but they had carbs for every application. I'm pretty sure they also do rebuilding.

That appears to be a well established company. I remember the company I got one from was out of TX

Just called this place and got a quote.. They don't have my style carb in stock. To rebuild mine they want $601.50!! They must be out of there mind lol

You know what
I was just looking at the replacement distributor for your '83 Regal with a 4.1L V6 and it shows an HEI distributor as the original distributor. If that is the case, you can run the HOLLEY with no issues

How can I tell for sure if mine is an HEI for sure? I can go take a pic of it on break.. If thats the case then I will definately go with that Holley!

I know my carb has some electrical hook ups, and so does my Distrubitor. I dont have a vacume advance on it.

The HEI will have a power wire going into it from the main wiring harness and it will also have a 3-wire plug that comes from the base of the distributor and plugs into the cap.
If you want to take a picture, that works too 8)

As far as the electrical plugs going into the carburetor, somebody else is going to have to chime in on here. I am not real knowledgable with the Rochester Quadrajet to tell you if leaving them unplugged will affect anything
