Carburetor Air Cleaner Spacer ?

What are these used for and would it benefit me ?

I've been in situations where my throttle gets stuck under the air cleaner housing with the gas pedal pushed down while I'm driving...not fun.

Will this spacer clear my air cleaner housing, keeping from the throttle from getting stuck under it ?

That's what it's designed to do, yes. Be sure to get a gasket for the top and bottom.

Is the throttle actually getting hung up on the air cleaner housing?

yup, just close that hood very slowly the first time you do. It should not be an issue as I used to run the same spacer, but its always a good idea to check.
