...and the saga continues... still no damn title, but I'm patient... and a little crazy.

At the point where Im starting to look again... wondering if this guy is ever going to get the title sorted out...

SO. . If anyone has a lead on a clean '78-81 Le Mans, '78-80 Grand Am, or 81-87 Grand Prix Ttop car, please let me know.

Yes Indeed that is her... I saw this shortly after it was posted on CL. Not sure who bought it, if anyone. Its certainly not where I last saw her, (although not far from), nor is the price remotely close to what Id have paid... Poor old girl... I hope she finds a good home but at that price, Im doubtful she'll sell. Im still looking too, came close to buying a Grand Am but there was waaaay too much wrong with her to justify it. Also found a sweet Grand Prix, but someone beat me to it... '81 LJ Ttop car and loaded with pretty much every option... 301 wasnt perfect... intact but knocking... I find something yet.

I guess knowing what the previous price was would give you a starting point if you were still interested. $4k does seem a bit high, but if the car is truly as rust free and complete as it seems, a person would probably be money ahead starting with that car. Also a non-A/C car. A lot of people would really like that!

Wow man that car is straight. Good shape is hard to come by these days. If you do manage to get it at a better price, I wouldn't bother to use a 4 barrel. The Dual-jet is perfect for a 301, especially with the dead rear gears that are probably in it. It looks like someone painted the motor and left the rusty valve covers, intake, and water pump?!? :blam:

No, Im well past buying it.... that was awhile ago... read through my posts to see the tale... it was a saga and reall was cart before the horse. It is solid, but there may be something going on under the carpet that I didnt see during my multiple trips to look her over... probably in the floor seams. I say that because of the condensation inside and the fact it sat in a dirt floor garage. The other thing is it says new oil pan... it did have an oil leak that I wrote off to being dry gaskets... Still a solid car with really no options to speak of, but I was going to buy it for $450 because the dealer just wanted it off his lot... he never did get a title & that may still be an issue... definately is in Massachusetts, not so much down in CT though... .

Wait- this guy now wants 4K when he probably got it for a song? As if. Anyway I did read it and I feel for you. My own wagon I bought from a dead guy and went through the wringer getting it registered. I was about to do some VIN crime by the time it got straightened out.

I read about all the hassle too. I just figured if the current owner got the title straightened out, that would be worth something. Not $3500 extra, but maybe $500-$1000? It all depends how firm he sticks to that $4k number. I Wouldn't doubt he just threw out a silly number to see if anyone would bite.

Since it says new fuel and brake lines besides the oil pan, it may be worth it to talk to the guy. Maybe he did the grunt work and just wants rid of it, who knows. I'm sure the longer it sits, the better the price will get. He's NOT getting 4K- not even in his dreams.
