Catalytic converter question

If you call down to one of the bigger boneyards in the Nevada, Arizona, or Utah deserts, they may be able to find one that isn't rusted up too badly. You could sandblast the exterior and paint it with some Eastwood high temp exhaust paint... but be aware that because of the valuable metals used inside them, it might be pricey... and there's no guarentee that it won't be plugged up... 'course there is a remedy for that.

Welll after taking a good look at mine, i'll RESTORE it!! I'm gonna try to simply replace my rotted flange, as the rest of the cat is still PERFECT to sandblast (the surface is barely OXYDED!!!) and my best friend knows a guy who can MAKE me a perfect copy of the original heat shield and installit on... I'm even gonna CLEAN the inside, as i got a plug to remove the beads inside!!! Sounds like a call for a GUNK BATH lol!!! OH WHILE I'M THERE, anyone would have a GOOD picture of the original heat shield of an '81 FLAT cat by any chance?? I need one to give to the guy as a reference to reproduce it since i don't have MY shield since at least 2 years.....!
