Glad you have it running right but why do you have a mechanical fan and what looks to be an electric fan?

The workings of my old mechanic. SMH @ him. He lost a very good customer in me. He stated that the single electric fan wasn't keeping the car cool enough, so he installed the mechanical fan also. With both fans, the engine temp has never risen above 180 degrees. But now that the car is running as it should 😀 , ill be going back through the engine bay and re-doing a lot of his ugly work 🙁 .

From the sounds of it, ditching the old mechanic for the new one was a very good choice. 😀

Ditch that air filter with your mechanic, they hurt flow and if the motor coughs or back fires, that filter melts and ends up inside the carb and motor.

When LT1's came out, the fuel/carbon build up was enough to cause a knocking sound and it was SOP to fill each cylinder with what smelled like carb cleaner, let it soak then crank the engine without plugs to blow it out...then run them to clear/clean off the carbon build up.
