charging system problem

then it should be simple to diagnose...if you put 12 volts to the exciter side then at the battery connection on the alternator you should have the battery lever but when you start the car the volts at that connection should increase...I have no idea what you mean by nothing
 
ok i don't now what i did but i have 12.2 volts to the brown wire now.now where do i find a connector for the back side of the gauge cluster?
 
you guys a the ****ing best.thanks for walking me through everything.the damm charge lite is on i have power to the alternator and should be firing it up soon.I LOVE YOU GUYS. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
