I am huge advocate of eye pro they have saved my vision more than once. Never related to mechanics but they did stop a couple chunks of brass from an exploding 50 cal cartridge

I had to get metal drilled out of my eye once. IT SUCKED!!!! after the meds wore off it felt like there was hot sand in my eye..for a week.. all I wanted to do was rub it, but I couldn't. And I had safety glasses on too!!

You my friend are what people from where I come from call "unlucky"

I work at a crane manufacturing plant and we ran all the parts through a roto-wheel shot blaster, and used to wash them down after they got machined and after washing it down while I was blowing it dry, I found a pocket of shot they had missed. Some how it got under my glasses. I didn't feel it at the time, woke up the next day and my eye had been watering all night while I was sleeping and had crusted shut.

Wow, I can only imagine I had eye surgery but I know that doesn't even compare

nah it really wasn't that bad, work took me to an eye doc and they did right there. Shot some thing to numb it up drilled it out, went back to work, (light duty for a week). Just felt like something was in it until it healed. No permanent damage. I got lucky

Now thats not fun at all. I am very sensitive when it comes to eyes. Some people get lucky and others not so much if a tiny shard of metal can hurt so bad imagine a chunk of steel flying from a press or a grinder....NEVER RISK SAFTEY.

Then I probably could compare with my eyes they just numbed them the cut my lens to make a flap then the laser went to work and then closed the flap on to the next eye. I did get 2 days off work for it

I never want to go throught it again! I can tell you that much. I always get really good safety glasses, and have them all over the garage. That way there is always a set with in reach.

I believe that Good Tools are an Investment. Most of mine are older Snap-On or MATCO in a 52" Snap-On Box.

You can get good Deals on Snap-On at Pawn Shops

Now in the last few years, I have not had to buy many Tools except for disposables from Harbor Freight.
