Don't worry about changing the speedo gear, the difference in tire height isn't enough to really throw the speedo off...
My 442 with 255/60's is only off by 2 mph (@ 35 mph) according to those radar sign deals.
My Buick wagon with stock size tires is also 2 mph off at that same sign.
I wouldn't worry about it.

if that's all then i'm not gonna really worry bout it...

How tall are the tires on the car now? I mean tape measure from tire top to ground.

Some 15 inchers are shorter then higher series (70/75) 14 inchers.

I run Yokahamas , but Firehawks are nice also. Better the TAs and are raised white letter.

275/60 15 fit nice also, paired with a set of 225/65 15 gave the car the big/little look and still handled well.

Also the closer you are to a hadling car vs a drag (drag look) car the closer the front /rear sizes should be.

If it is a daily driver, get all 4 the same so you can rotate them.

Yeah...... I thought about that after I posted.... it is gonna be closer to a daily driver than a race car so I guess I should keep them the same size..... I'll have to measure what's on it now tomorrow after I check the pressure (i think there a little low right now.....)

I was using this to get an idea of the size difference....

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

going by that calculator if I put 225/60 15's all the way around there will be almost no difference in size except width...

I've got 255 radial t/as on the back of my cutlass, and my speedo is off about 8%

Something else I just picked up for it for $200

Guy I got it from said it came out of a '74, and ran perfect. 8)

That's an expensive air cleaner!!!

I put the white letter Firehawk Indy 500s on my 442 and like them much better than the BFG Radial TAs. I used 235/60/15s on the front as they are the same height as the stock 215/65s and used 275/60/15s on the rear but have had my rear rims widened to 15x8s. If I had 15x7s on the back I might have settled for the 255s. Problem was with the 509 I had to change to drag radials because even with a good posi, an air bag, and lower control arms it just would not hook well enough on the street.
