Hey guys, want to put 403 olds in my 79'pontiac wagon w/305 chevy. Will GM CONVERTERS swap out?I can get an adapter for the trans, just wondered about the converter, thanks for answers,BO 😱
Engines don't matter. It's the transmission & flexplate that matters. If they both have either a TH350,TH400, or Powerglide it will work. However, you will have to measure the flexplate bolt hole diameter to see if a different flexplate is needed.
Oh, and different diameter flexplates have a different number of starter gear teeth too.
Thanks, found out olds flex plates have a''lug'' ,while chevys have a plate for nut/bolt.May be interference, better to use olds converter.thanks, and NICE rides, later,BO
