If I register my wagon it would be very last minute, if the wagon is drivable, the interior definitely won't be done! Man I need longer days!

I would register now so you can have some extra motivation to get it done.

I will update this thread with actual information soon. 🙂 I Need to clarify something with the show folks and then run something by you all. This could be cool.

Yeah, it is a matter of my Buddy and I getting the paint done in time. I plan on at least going, but the car may not make it this year. I have family in the area I always visit. I am in the Carlisle area once a month.

OK, so here's the deal: We can get a tent. Period. SO LETS DO THIS. What it costs depends on how many cars we get under the GBF banner (25+ cars and its free).... I have no problem ponying up for that if we don't hit 25. The only question then is:

Where do we put it?

There are two options:
  1. We have to pick a "common" area out in the showfield somewhere, which would depend mainly on the representation of cars. If we had more Oldsmobiles then we'd put it with them, more Pontiacs, near them, and everyone else would be out in the showfield in their "class" area. --- Pros: Your car would likely get more visibility and votes, Cons: We'd be split up all over the place.
  2. We put it in the "Club Zone." If you remember the show layout, this is an area north/west of the "car corral" (cars for sale) building and field, to the east of the main buildings. (If you have your map from last year its actually on there, near the "blue showfield") --- Pros: All the GBF guys would be "together" in the same area near the tent. Cons: Your car would lose a bit of visibility and possibly votes, since you'd be separated from other cars in your classes. We did have guys take trophies last year, so I guess that's a consideration.
So we need to decide Real Soon Now™ which one we'd rather do. I throw my vote behind option 2, since I think it'd be great to have everyone right there, none of this running all over trying to see what's going on and stuff.... but I get it if nobody wants to. I'd probably have to get someone to volunteer their trunk and lend a key to stash the beer and other supplies in, too 😉

Let me know what you think. I'll make plans to be there Thursday night, and be at the show first thing Friday morning to get things set up.

Did we come to any consensus on where we were staying? I heard some calls for the same place, since they tolerated us (!) and some not so much.... So that topic still needs discussion, too.

Oh, and the deadline for pre-registration is May 26th. Make sure you pick GBodyForum.com from the club list when you do! I also have to get the club tent info in by then.

EDIT: Add a map to show where the club zone is..

I would throw my vote to number 2 also. For me, it is more about getting to meat members and the like. Then again, my car may or may not be ready, and if it was not show ready finished.

:bump:

OK, so I just went through this thread, and here's who I have so far (hopefully the tagging gets you notified)
Anyone else I don't have? I know for a fact the guy with the burgundy '78? low-mile Monte made it to the site, but I'll be damned if I can find you to see if you'll be there again... :/ There could be more, too.

Trying to remember everyone's real name/user name from last year, and I'm sad to say I've slept since then and I'm coming up blank. I can remember really stupid stuff but not this. 😵
