Saturday, I was able to work on the car for a little bit before my friend dropped off his Chevy pickup for intake gaskets. I pulled the valve covers and cleaned and painted them black. I also finished intalling my accessories. I need to get a radiator before I put the fan on, but I have the Alt. and PS Pump on now. I don't that the pully on the PS Pump because my installer bolt was thrashed and I need to come up with a replacement this week.

Unfortunatle, this will be as far as it gets for a little bit. My CTS developed another problem shortly after I installed the new starter switch. The fuel pump quit on me at work. I need to get it replaced before I order more parts for this car.

I always hate when the other cars get in the way of the "Toy" cars. Hope its back on the road and your ordering parts again soon.

Well, been a while. Not much to update. I had to put a Fuel Pump and then a Crank Sensor in my CTS. I also spent some time cleaning and shooting the wheel of the CTS Graphite Grey. The car looks a lot better.
Today I worked on the 84. I bought a remaned starter for it and got it installed by using my two hands and my head to hold the starter and header up in place while I got a bolt started. Found out after the starter was tight that the header will not clear it. I thought about cleanancing the header around the starter, but think I will bite the bullet and buy a mini starter. Be easier to put a heat shield around it anyway.
I start a new job next week, starting a service dept for a used car dealer. There is enough room for me to keep the car in the front of the shop out of the way and be able to work on it in the evenings or on weekends. So, Hopefully, the cold weather won;t stop me from getting this thing going soon.

Thought I would give a brief update. I have started my new job. I got a picture of the shop I am in. It is coming along. I also have a couple pictures of the Cutlass inside for the winter. I worked on some electrical stuff this morning before work. I have a good radiator that I think I can make work. I will have to clearance the core support slightly for the lower hose.

Well, it has been a while since I updated this. I have been very busy with work and have not had a ton of time to work on the car. I finally bought a mini starter to clear my headers. I could not talk myself into paying the higher dollars for an Oldsmobile/Pontiac starter. Some research showed that the Olds starters use the same drive fear as the Chevy units, so i purchased a mini starter for a Chevy. It is a clockable unit, that I modified slightly to clear the block and the headers and it cost my just over half of the Olds version. i will let everyone know how well it holds up over time.
I still need to get a radiator and run the trans cooler lines as well as shorten my driveshaft.

How does the bolt pattern compare? What model is it? Have you actually started the car with it? I need a better one than the no name one that only fully engages half the time in my 4x4. You will enjoy the low end power on that 403 😀.

The bolt pattern is good. clearance it good. I still had to clearance my header a little, but I bought a cheap set of flow techs and the driver's side fits like crap anyway. I have to do the lower steering shaft upgrade to give me more room between it and the header. I had to clearance to make it around the frame on that side as well.
My intention with this car was to do upgrades as time and money allowed, but I came into an 83 Regal that I will do more to and this one will mainly be a fun driver.

Good, I am getting the $110 Proform, looks exactly like the $300 CSR OP model. If it doesn't fit, it will be sent back to Summit. The Flowtech headers fit like junk from what I have read. I had ceramic coated A body headers, that needed double gaskets and rusted like crazy.

Like I said, I had to modify my slightly to clock it where it needed to be, but different units may have more clocking positions to not require the actual mods. I really look forward to getting this on the road, the 403 is going to be a ton of fun.
