Compatible hoods

Hello, I am purchasing a 79 royal knight all original except they put a cowel hood on. I'd like to but stock hood back on and find a re pop decal. I have an 86 regal hood up in the rafters but just off memory I can't see that fitting. Any advice?

you'll need an elkie or a malibu hood. all other gbody hoods are a different shape

I have my old flat hood from my 79 Malibu if you’re interested. I’m in AZ. Not to sure shipping is a good option though.

No but thank you. I'm not technically looking for one right now. I'm just trying to find out what yrs makes and models would be interchangeable. If any are that is.

So If anyone within cpl hrs of erie pa has a solid and straight hood that will work on my 79 elco, I'm interested and will drive... thanks

78-83 malibu and 78-79 elco all have the same hoods afaik

The interchange/years are:
Malibu, '78-'83
El Camino, '78-'87
GMC Caballero, '78-'87
Note: Choo Choo Customs El Camino SS's have an aftermarket bolt on hood scoop.

Easiest way to find one is probably advertise the cowl hood for sale at a decent price but require a good stock hood to you as part of the deal

you're in Ohio and there is quite the Gbody presence up there. post on Craigslist or a few other sites that deal in El Caminos and you'll get a response
