Read this article and it might help you - 9-Inch Vs. 12-Bolt Rearend Compararison - I'm for the nine inch and run one in my dragster and S-10 truck I'm building. There is many upgrades for the 9 - case, bolt through, daytona pinion, bearing size, back brace, spline count. The nine is bolt in and you won't need offset wheels. Some purest won't run a ford rear end in their GM. The 12 bolt is an excellent rear end and you are going to have to make the choice on what you want. Not trying to talk you into anything.
exelent article I wish I had this to read in the first place so the 12 is really not any stronger, you made up my mind I am going with ford 9 a lot less complicated thank you

I have a 383 in my wagon around the 450hp mark. Put in a posi rear from Monte Carlo SS, didn't touch a thing and hasn't broke yet. Has about 100 street miles and 15 passes at the dragstrip. I'm sure the rear had more mileage before it went into my car.

Key word "yet". If your putting down 450 HP that's low 11's @ 1.50 60ft. It's not if but when. If your running street tires and not hooking it might last a while.

Right now until we get the right converter for the car and do some tuning, it's running low 12s cutting low 1.7 60' times on a M/T drag radial. That was on a tight converter. We will be getting one a little more loose. It will be seeing a lot more runs being that I bracket race the car. What it boils down to, is you can't put a time stamp on any parts on when it's going to go unless you install something incorrectly. What works for one person might not work for another.

I wish you all the luck w/ the 7.5 (actually 7.625) but the simple fact is it wasn't designed to hold that much power esp drag racing w/ slicks. Low 12's says your putting down about 350 HP which is livable
