Confused on which rear end to replace 7.5 with

I don't see any listing on UMI's site for rear control arms to mount a truck rear end in a Gbody.

These control arms from UMI Performance are designed to bolt a 1964-1972 GM A-Body 10-Bolt or 12-Bolt rear end into a 1978-1988 GM G-Body; this includes Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino, Regal, Grand National, Grand Prix and Cutlass. These upper control arms are built at the correct angle to attach to the G-Body chassis as well as the A-Body rear end "ears". These control arms are a must any time this swap is being completed. Using factory control arms will cause drastic rear end bind and incorrect driveline angle, this leads to traction lose, vibrations and unsafe handling.
SO I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A REAR END & I HAVE A LEAD ON A 68 TO 72 BOP 12 BOLT , THIS WILL WORK WITH THE UMI PACKAGE?

It's been a few years but this is what I have in my nine inch.

Housing and axles $600.00 Your choice of splines & ordered w/ chevy ends for my brakes
9 in case 45.00
gear set 150.00
spool 130.00
bearing kit 90.00
And it's all brand new !
I just bought a Moser 9 in w/ 4:30 gears and Daytona pinon for $400.00

[QUO?TE="pontiacgp, post: 510198, member: 256"]Chevelle rear ends come in two different widths, 63 to 67 is 2.5" wider than a G body rear end, the 68 to 72 is 4.5" wider than the G body rear. There is lots of info on this on the forum.
THE 12 BOLT THAT I HAVE FOUND MESURES, 55 ONE HALF FROM HOLE TO HOLE WHERE BACKING PLATES BOLT TO.
PLATES ARE MISSING SELLER SAYS IT CAME OFF 70 CHEVELLE WILL THIS WORK?

It will work BUT as I said earlier put pen to paper as to how much it will cost to make it fit. If that works for you great.

PUTTING A PEN TO IT I FIGURE AT $400. FOR THE REAR END, THAT BY THE TIME I COMPLETLY RE BUILD IT WITH THE AJUSTABLE UMI TRALING ARMS IT WILL BE THE SAME AMOUNT AS A 9 INCH FORD BOLT IN FOR A G BODY, WHICH ONE WILL BE STRONGER?

why the CAPS?.....if it is from a 70 Chevelle the measurement should be 62.5" from axle flange to axle flange.
WHYNOT CAPS ,IS IT HARD TO READ THAT WAY?

Just buy an 8.5 from a GN, T-Type, or 442 G-body that'll bolt right in.

Read this article and it might help you - 9-Inch Vs. 12-Bolt Rearend Compararison - I'm for the nine inch and run one in my dragster and S-10 truck I'm building. There is many upgrades for the 9 - case, bolt through, daytona pinion, bearing size, back brace, spline count. The nine is bolt in and you won't need offset wheels. Some purest won't run a ford rear end in their GM. The 12 bolt is an excellent rear end and you are going to have to make the choice on what you want. Not trying to talk you into anything.
