New here. I have a 1985 442 white with t tops and burgundy interior. The original motor is hurting, so I am putting in a 350 Olds that I had from a 72 Cutlass. I will keep the original. The body is pretty good, as the car had been sitting in a container since 1992....pics when I get home to the puter🙂....

In what way is the engine hurt? Knocking/rod hanging out of the block?

Looks pretty good, what's the mileage, and why was it ever put in a storage container?

The PO and his Dad backed it into a sealed container in 1994..and there it sat until this year. The engine is seized and a lot of the engine componenents were literally rotten....the valve covers had holes in them . So I pulled it. I will keep with the transmission and try to restore it. In the meantime I have a freshly built 350 that I will put in. The body is in good shape and the interior has not seen sunlight in 21 years. Frame is good ....front floor passenger side at firewall needs a little patch. The PO did not realize the harm done to the car with no airflow. 🙁.pretty cool find, According to GM Historical services, it was 1 of 200 cars issued in Canada and 1 of 59 with T- roof. Olds made 300 with white exteriors for only one model year. The PO called it a 1985 Olds Cutlass Salon 442 Special Edition Sports Coupe and bought it new with his father....

Darn, I think I just hit the quote button....and the PO never did say why they stored it this way. It has 128,000 km on the odometer.

Nice 442!!
