i'm looking to swap electric fans into the wagon. didn't wanna rev the fans clutch up high into the 5k rpm range. where can i find the brackets and a dual fan setup to cool my 355 malibu? oh yea, i'm keeping the a/c on the car too so would i need a controller unit or hi low switch i suppose?

what have you guys that have electric fans done? thanks. 😀

I happen to be doing a large single right now.

I can post step one on Monday.

I have duals in my race car, may end pitting the dauls on the wagon and the single on the race car.

electric fans

sweet 😀 thanks,

found a couple of spendy parts on gbodyparts.com but besides the top retainer peice i think i need a diff lower too right? iirc the lower radiator mount insulators are attached the the lower stock shroud. i'll have to look again.

How well does the B body fan assembly fit? I'm looking into a similiar swap right now on my '84 Monte. I picked up the single fan and upper rad mounting plate from a Buick GN, but the parts were off the car when I bought them, and I'd like to get some pics of what the GN setup looks like when its on the car. I'd also like to know how to do the wiring for this conversion. Any & all help is appreciated, thanks.

Judging from the photo, you'd also need the B body rad, because it looks like the fans are mounted to the rad. And if you get the rad, then you'd need the coolant surge tank from the B body as well, because the rad doesn't have provision for a normal fill (pressure) cap. The fans look like they would do a good job of cooling, but I'm not sure that it would work that well on a G body. Thanks for posting the photo though-it is helpful.

Your other option would be to get a dual fan set up from an LT1 or LS1 F-body car.
Both of those set up's are encased in their own shroud.

There are other fans that also supposedly work well. Single fan from a Ford Taurus, dual fans from a Ford Aerostar. Large single fan from a Lincoln MK VIII..but they allegedly draw alot of amperage when they start up..but pull alot of air.

I believe that there are a few MOPAR fans that also work well and are a good fit.
