So in order to take my Cutlass to our Senior prom this year, my girlfriend says it must have function AC. So I need AC back in my G, all the details in are my signature, it's a Carbureted Small Block. I believe I have the compressor, engine brackets, all the lines, Evaporator and Condenser. I think all the wiring is there as well. But I'll need a wiring diagram for the A/C. Also my blower motor does not work on the highest setting, I'm assuming it is the big resistor under the hood on top of the heater box? (I can snap pics later.) I am also assuming I'll need some sort of solenoid to kick the idle up when the compressor is on, can anyone point me in the right direction on this? What else am I going to need to have a cool breeze blowing in my G again?

If it were me I would carefully price what it would cost to redo the OEM system, then compare it to an aftermarket underdash system. If the prices weren't too far off,the aftermarket kit might be a better deal than the factory system, which was a POS from new.

The things women will get men to do.

Huge waste of money. It performs even worse than stock after a 134a conversion, if that is required to pass your local inspection.

I have all of the parts though, so I think an aftermarket system would be way over what I am about to spend. Later on down the road I could do that.

Two good reasons, a good woman and southern heat.

Just because you have all the parts dosent mean they are all going to work.
The compressor cold be shot, evaporator could be shot,etc...
You already know the blower motor dosent work.
Better investigate it a bit more before you pull the trigger.
