I have a spare cowl induction flapper door, vacuum pod and hardware for my 70 chevelle and toyed with the idea of putting on my monte SS. Yay or nay? Hardest part would be duplicating center hood line on door, but it can be done.

If you can do it go for it. Some day I'd like to do the same.

Do it! Or sell me the stuff to do it! I would love to do it to mine.

Why???

The Chevelle has a true cowl hood. The Monte has the Camaro version.

Or are you custom making a Chevelle style cowl hood for your Monte?

No. I'm not a fan of the lifted cowl hoods. The base for air cleaner fits in monte. It wouldn't be hard to fabricate a box that goes from cleaner seal around door. Then it would be a functional air intake albeit limited, yet would take in air from snorkel. These cars are not even dual snorkel from factory which greatly increases breathing. It's more for the cool factor on a daily, as I enjoy watching the door function on my chevelle.

I have a 71 roadrunner with a procharger, and the air grabber no longer worked - but it with some effort fabricated box around intake and routed flow down to box. Same electric door on back for air intake with door closed as stock. All parts could be bought repro.

I look forward to seeing this project!!
