Crane energizer in a 327?

It's got an edlebrock carb on it... I'm gonna have to figure out how to get pics in here. Guess I gotta get a photobucket account or something. When I first got it it had the ported vac hooked up and my timing was well into the upper teens at idle. Put manifold vac on and brought it down to 12 at idle... Gonna have to get more into it. An since I'm determined to do it all myself, it's gonna be a learning game with a huge curve.
 
back when the regal was on the road, my '64 327 franken-motor should've been more powerful than it was in the car... I'd taken it out of a 68 chevy c20 longbed that would just about pull the front wheels, but was a slug in the car... gears and a restrictive stock exhaust really bottled it up. just moving it up and down the street here in the rural neighborhood with longtube headers and a better gear in the rear seems to have woken it up.... something to consider
