I really don't know what else to call it, but if you have plastic trim in your interior that looks like chrome, the covering peels off. It's normally found on the door panel trim.
If you look at the pic in my sig closely, the trim on my panels are about an inch wide and relatively flat. I know the trim inside Malibus are about 3/4 of an inch so my idea might not work in that case due to the rounded edges.
Well anyway, I have this idea besides painting them or leaving them gray since the covering peeled off. I found "brushed aluminum-look" vinyl. I'm thinking razor blade and possibly a heat gun could work wonders. You can also get the vinyl in different woodgrain patterns if that suits you.
